TPC Scottsdale - Stadium Course
The Greatest Show on Grass - 16th hole included.
The Course
Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf designed the Stadium Course in 1986 for the Phoenix Open, which needed a home worthy of its rowdy crowds. What they built became the most-attended event in golf - 700,000+ fans in tournament week.
The par-3 16th, fully enclosed by grandstands, is golf's most famous party hole. During tournament week it holds 20,000 screaming fans; the rest of the year it is a peaceful (if intimidating) 163-yard par 3.
The course itself is classic desert target golf: waste areas, forced carries, and greens that reward bold approaches. It is more playable than its tournament reputation suggests.
Signature Holes
Hole 16 - Par 3, 163 yards
The stadium hole. Without grandstands it is a straightforward mid-iron. With them, it is the loudest 163 yards in sports.
Hole 15 - Par 5, 558 yards
Reachable island-ish green that produces tournament drama every February.

Practical Info
Peak season (Jan-Mar) runs around $399; summer rates drop dramatically - Arizona in July is cheap for a reason (bring water, play at dawn). Book the Champions Course next door for an affordable second round. Scottsdale has 200+ courses, so this anchors a great trip.

Worth it?
Yes, especially in shoulder season when rates drop. The 16th is worth the trip alone, and the desert golf is excellent. Just don't expect tournament-week atmosphere in October - expect a much better pace of play instead.
